Kala Loughrey has worked as an independent HR/Leadership/Coaching consultant since 1995. Recently she focused on leading seminars with the British-based firm, Lane4 Management Group Ltd, a global performance development consultancy which combines elite-sporting heritage and performance psychology to increase the performance in the business environment. Her clients included Roche Pharmaceuticals; DSM, a Dutch-based vitamin company; ExxonMobil; and Linklaters, a British-based law firm. Since 2004, she has continued to work with London Business School on their Leadership Program serving clients such as Roche and Nestlé. She aids the performance improvement of their top international leaders by facilitating small group sessions which focus on specific 360 degree developmental feedback coupled with individual coaching on action plans.
Prior to that Ms. Loughrey focused her energies on recruiting and placement consulting for 10 years, working in the Bay Area as well as Houston, Texas. She placed C-level talent in many start-up organizations as well as professionals in large energy companies. She started her corporate career in retail at Dayton Hudson Department Store Division (now Target Corp.) where she managed the Men’s and Kid’s Division in Minneapolis’ flagship store. Later, she moved to specialty store retail as a District Manager for Gap, Inc. in Texas.
She graduated from the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley and the Management Program at Rice University. She was awarded four years of athletic scholarship for gymnastics and competed at an elite-level. She earned her black belt in Tae Kwon Do and had an undefeated sparring record when she retired. She resides in Austin with her family.
